After lots of grueling hours, a few early mornings, and a lot of trial and error, I finally got a model I am happy with. It might not be the final one, but it works simply enough that it could fit the simplistic look for the game that I am going for. Ya know, the indie game look.
There were a lot of bugs at the start. I had to do the cape physics again, but thankfully I was able to get the cape mesh from the prototype model. Instead of adding clothes on top of the model, I thought it would be easier to just color the specific parts. It looks like it’s wearing something at least. This way it looks sleek and slim. I didn’t want to complicate it, or add too many details, it was already very problematic trying to get it to work in the beginning.
Once I got it working along with the cape I couldn’t help but play with the lighting and the sky again to capture some nice shots of the model. Now I can finally get back to gameplay again, starting off with the whip. It needs a lot of refining. After getting over this hurdle, I’m confident that there will be even rougher waters ahead. That’s the fun of this all really.
