It has been awhile since I used my tablet, I’m not sure how old it is. It could easily be 12 years at this point. I drew a rough sketch of the level I want to layout, and I based it on a building I made for DnD. The name of the first level shall be Cinder Hall. It’s on the eastern side of Queenspike, the academy for Haunters. This level shall serve as a tutorial stage and an introduction to the world.
I started out the day by asking a single question.
It wasn’t too helpful, and I didn’t have the patience to dive into the multitude of articles and videos. I used what I learned from yesterday and the past few weeks. Years of gaming is extremely helpful in this case, since so much of gameplay relies on the space the player is provided. I’m very happy so far with the direction it is going. I am no experienced level designer by any means so it won’t be as fancy or detailed as it could be, but I’ll do my best so it still looks interesting in its simplicity.
Cinder Hall is a rather large space, full of faculty rooms. It’s quite empty for now, but the pieces are coming together quite well. I am proud of the small staircase I made, and soon enough the tiny rooms will be full of detail (hopefully.) The drawing was very helpful in the building process, with that in mind I can probably do the same for the other levels. I already have ideas for what the other levels will be, but for now I need to focus on this one. It will be awhile before I can call this one finished.
