Starting new rooms

I spent the time that I had finishing up three more rooms. They are dressed up, and have at least one item that can be inspected. My idea is that each room will match the personality of the professor I have in my head. Do they call them professors in special police academies? Well, it’s my world I can call them whatever I want.

I made one room quite messy, and I made another room appear as if they have private lessons inside. Eventually I will start writing the descriptions for the items that you can inspect. And I will also figure out how to put the name plate of the professor outside the door so you know who owns the room. I also wanted to make sure that when you looked at the arrangement of the books it didn’t look copy pasted. I arrange them very specifically so at least it looks a bit random. There are some cases where I copy pasted to save time, but most of the time I placed each book manually.

The last room I did today I used a lot of village props so this room could probably be for the professor of agriculture, which makes total sense in a criminal catching academy. I put nice little trees, some mushroom arrangements, and a miniature house display. I’m just using what I can get my hands on. I don’t want to spend too much time creating my own props because that’s not what is vital to the game right now. Maybe eventually I can try to model my own props, but then I’d have to learn how to create textures for them as well.

And the first floor is barely done. I have not counted how many rooms there are but I should so I know what to prepare for. Next week I might take a break from the level work to go back and refine the swinging system because I’ve had some ideas that I want to try. More on that next time.
