I got some place holders for the music from an online source that has a ton of cool tracks. Most if not all of them are from some guy called Kevin Macleod. So thank you Mr. Macleod. I started the day going back to Beepbox trying to make my own music that I would like. After some attempts I realized I am not skilled or experienced enough to make great tracks that I will think is good enough for the game.
I went back to some of the sound effects I had already added to the game and adjusted them so it could fit better, such as the impact sound of the player landing. I also found the modulator function for the sound so it adjusts the pitch and volume of the effect so it sounds slightly different every time. With that attached to most sounds it now makes it more dynamic and a bit more realistic. It works especially well with footsteps, so not every step sounds exactly the same now. I fixed the issue with the whip going through walls. And I updated the functionality so I could get rid of a huge chunk of my blueprint since the push and pull were using a lot of the same logic I simplified it. I learned from coding class is that if you see a lot of similar code, i.e. if you’re copy-pasting, then there is probably a better way of doing what you are doing. I found some more classes on the Unreal education source. They’re about two hours each so I’ll start them tomorrow and the day after that. I should have probably started on them first, but I kinda forgot about the site. Anyway the sound I added to the game so far isn’t too complicated.
Anyway enjoy some cool pics I was able to take while I was playing around in-game.
