Still getting over the Christmas lag, so not a lot of updates today. I expect another slow few days especially with the New Year coming. What a year it has been. Not sure what else I can say. I worked on improving the lightning system. Tried different ways to arranging it to make it simpler and easier to organize. The first few ones didn’t work quite right so I stuck to a similar system that I had previously. I made sure it had a bit more randomness and realism this time around.
Since the lightning was concerned with the outside forces I thought about adding to the landscape so the view from the windows wasn’t plain. I totally forgot most of what I learned about the landscape tool. As I feared there is knowledge that is quickly disappearing from my head the more I learn and the less I utilize from past lessons. Anyway I knew enough to get by. I added simple blocks and even trees to have outlines from the rain. It’s just literal cubes that I placed and changed the sizes but it works. The trees do a good job as well. I don’t need to make the outside overly detailed, enough that it looks populated.
I am still encountering the bug where the melee attack of the player doesn’t always make contact with the boss. It happens rarely but it’s clear when it is supposed to hit and instead misses. I tweaked some of the collision settings and I hope that it doesn’t happen again. I can’t seem to pin down the reason why, but for now it isn’t game breaking at least. I added the rain texture to more of the windows on the first floor and I stood on the mouth of the wolf statue to show of the kinematics of the legs and feet.
