Started off with some small UI updates, make the buttons appear more pleasing, transparent when not in use. I created custom images for the Lantern images, simple shapes which work well. Will definitely update them as needed. Made sure that all the screens had buttons that brought the player back to the main options screen if they wanted to go there. I also found that one of the adjectives I had on the list had a comma for some reason. I didn’t catch that the first time I proofread the list.
Along with creating the video for the month I will also be packaging the game at the end of every month to make sure it works and hopefully have some people playtest it because I can’t possibly catch every bug in the game.
I also started writing the story for the next stage. This will definitely help me layout what the stage will look like, what the flow will be, how the puzzles will work, and more.
While playtesting today I did find a game breaking bug that had to do with the puzzle in the 2nd stage. Thankfully it was very easy to fix.
The new video is up here, it’s not very long. By my one year marker I’m hoping to have enough to make a trailer, and then I’ll have the confidence and determination to make more social media accounts for the game. This is in order to build hype and figure out how I can market it. Fingers crossed.
Tomorrow I will continue laying out the new stage, as well as creating a “base” level just as I made a “base” enemy. Since I am quite satisfied with how my stages work so far, I can easily make a basic version that I can duplicate to make it easier on myself when I make new stages.
