Finished filling out my information for steam. Now I have to wait a few days to see if they will approve me and then I should be able to finally create a steam page. While waiting I updated the thumbnail to the trailer I have yet to release. Hopefully Steam gets back to me before the end of August. That way I can still keep up with my one video per month. If not then I will record something else for the monthly update.
I went back to my to do list and at the top of it was the scale and size issue of the UI. After some research I found that what I needed to use was a scale box. It adjusts whatever is inside it accordingly. It worked perfectly for most of what I had. But for items with longer texts I ran into a few issues of it being too small, too big, or clipping past the screen. I learned more about scale boxes and changed some settings and turned off the auto-wrap for text which was interfering with proper scaling of the UI. It took awhile but I think I got everything adjusting properly to most screen sizes.
I made sure that most if not all of the UI was inside it’s own scale box.
Over some time I began to not like the current font I had for the game. I don’t think it was as readable and pleasing as I first thought. The search for another font began. I found one that is free to use and it is clear, good-looking, and overall stronger than the previous font I was using. Since it immediately applied to everything I could tell I made the right choice.
There’s a lot more aesthetic improvements I would like to make to the UI but that is no longer top of the list.
Next thing for me to continue working on is the boss for the fourth stage. I have an idea of what I need to do, and implementing it will be quite the challenge.
