New power, what this?

Tweaked the newest power slightly. Instead of simply dealing extra damage, it attaches an object that deals damage to the enemy that is hit. Essentially it doesn’t the same thing but I made it look cooler. Using some spear animations I created montages that had effects. I gave the mesh an invisible material while the spear itself is the safe material as the whip. It took some experimenting but I got it to work well. It looks pretty awesome in a fight.

That is the first part of the power and then I worked on the second part. I wanted to add visual indicators that the power is activated. After throwing some random things on I ended up putting small shields around the right forearm. It will reflect the counter of the power from 3 to 0. I updated the effects so that it will be clear that the player is hit when the power is on. Making the damage 0 seemed a bit too strong, so I went with the damage being divided in half instead. I will probably tweak it as I go if it is too powerful or too weak.

I’ve finished what I could on that one. I still need to work on the UI elements tied to that power but I don’t have the visual assets for it yet.

The rest of the important tools for the newest level were still to be added. I made sure to spruce up everything and make it look more natural rather than plain. It was fun adding all the objects and making sure they had different interactions and appearances. I created three new actors that all do different things. All of the important functionality is completed. What I want to do next is add the visual and audio effects for it to make it come alive. With that I will start sorting through the sound files I recently acquired.

This level is going to be the best one yet.
