Starry

Finished up one section of the level. Probably won’t be adding anything to it unless I create a new interesting object. For the next part I tested out a few ways I wanted to fill it up. I eventually went with using the foliage tool to lay down the tombstones and flowers. Using varying colors of flowers it looked great in-game under the dim lighting. Not all the flowers glow which is intentional. Then I made sure to fill up more of the area. I arranged them deliberately, while the graves are a bit chaotic, but I’m okay with that.

Visually I really like it. I am far from finished with this section, but so far so good. Also added more interesting stuff within it for the player to find. I have a lot of ideas of what to add to this place and it’s going to need a lot more work.

I placed some of the flowers from above so I could get a perspective that could see the entire field. I wanted it to look similar to a night sky filled with stars. One area in particular is more filled with glowing flowers for good reason. Altogether the area is in great progress. The buildings don’t feel out of place next to the graveyard. The final building will be the most complicated, so I’ll start making it once I’m done with this flower section.
