The Cloud

I took a quick look and read up on how the Steam API works with the Cloud and Achievements. I learned how to insert achievements into Unreal Engine and also where to put it in the Engine text file so it hopefully updates on the Steam Achievements.

The Cloud wasn’t too complicated. I just had to find the proper folder in where the game was actually keeping the save files. It wasn’t in the same directory as the game which was a bit annoying, but I found it after a swift search. For the Cloud Saves it needed an allocated space and amount of files to be set. I compared some of the games I already had on steam and used that size. The amount of files wasn’t clear so I just put half of the maximum.

I tested the demo a bit and already started on putting achievements. I will do further testing to make sure the Cloud saves work as well as the achievements from the game. The achievements are set in Steamworks and I have to make sure it has the same name in the Engine’s text file as well as the Blueprints when I call it.
