Memoirium in 2026

Memoirium is feeling great in 2026.

There have been a lot of updates to improve the game, spanning from UI to gameplay. UI navigation and design continue to be the bane of my existence.

I will list some of the updates in no particular order because I cannot remember everything I have worked on in the past few months. Honestly, it has been a blur, and it will always be nerve-wracking as the game gets older and older.

  • Enemy AI has been improved. Sometimes they will taunt or acknowledge the player rather than simply moving and attacking straight away.
  • Helper AI has been improved and will follow the player when there are no visible enemies.
  • Interact prompts now follow the player when they are close to interactable objects. This will hopefully help make it harder to miss important things.
  • Keepsakes (consumable items) come with passives; every single one will have a unique benefit as long as it is equipped. I’m not sure how strong or weak some of these passives are, but I’m sure they will be tweaked over time.
  • Further optimization of enemy locking onto targets. Since Memoirium’s enemy AI rotates towards its target, it was a little too costly before. It was a relatively easy fix to still use the same logic, but basically have the lock-on system tick slower than it was before.
  • Added capsule collisions to the major body parts of the player and enemies for more accurate hit detection because it was far too finicky before.

I’ve also recently updated the Steam Page with new art, gifs, and listed the key features.

Features (as written on Steam)

  • A fully interconnected world with multiple paths
  • Personal room to decorate and write in
  • 8 unique dungeons with their own mobs, mini-bosses, and bosses
  • 14 game-changing armors, masks, and off-hand items
  • 25 Keepsakes (consumable items that are replenishable and provide passives)
  • 31 distinct weapons
  • 67 powerful Lullabies (spells)

The current plan moving forward is to do even more rigorous and meticulous testing. It’s going to be a very exciting year.
