A day of whipping

I was supposed to improve the effects of the melee combat but I got carried away with working on the whip so I just kept going and will keep going until I am satisfied with it, because the whip is more important to me than any melee attack. It was actually a good thing IContinue reading "A day of whipping"

Some method, some madness

I realized I never actually explain anywhere in the game what HAUNT is, so I added that to the message in the first stage. The problem with some of the buttons or UI elements is that you can't edit the default so it reflects on all the ones you have used. So I learned howContinue reading "Some method, some madness"

More changes

I wasn't able to work on the game yesterday so I hope I will be able to make enough changes and improvements to make up for that. To begin the changes I started trying to find a new font. I had to import them into the game and replace the default font I had soContinue reading "More changes"

Day by day

Found a nice high resolution picture of a textured paper or something that appears to be parchment. I used it as background for all the UI elements and it looks pretty great. It makes the words pop out and it makes it more interesting to look at overall. For awhile now I have been tryingContinue reading "Day by day"

Video Settings

I worked through and learned all the available settings that Unreal engine lets the developer change within the game itself. I started out with foliage because that one would be the most obvious in the cottage stage. Once I turned the foliage down to low all the flowers disappear. So if the setting changes properlyContinue reading "Video Settings"

From scratch

After a lot of work with the UMG, I now have a better understanding of it. So I improved a lot of the messages and things on the screen such as the tutorial messages and the description of the items. It makes it look a lot cleaner and nicer, especially for the item description becauseContinue reading "From scratch"

Housekeeping

Did a lot of tiny updates today because am still unable to buy the things I want from the marketplace. In the meantime there are lots of small changes I want to make and still need to continue to make. I started off with the settings menus and the possible things you can change. AsContinue reading "Housekeeping"

June Update

Unfortunately due to some payment issues I wasn't able to buy the asset that I need to help me sort through the video settings. I will try to see if I can make my own one from scratch instead. In the mean time I made small changes updating the images on the HUD to matchContinue reading "June Update"

Appearances

Took a deep dive into how to create options and menus for the video settings. Basically it is a lot to do and very overwhelming. I know that it is one of those things I can find on the marketplace to make my life easier. I found a plugin for settings, that should make myContinue reading "Appearances"

Visual Clarity

While I was testing the boss fight last week I felt that there was something wrong with how the combat looked. The trail I had setup for the sword was so thick it would block the enemy you were hitting, so it would be hard to see what they were doing or setting up for.Continue reading "Visual Clarity"
